Wordless Wednesday - Inside The Sunken Forest
All of these photos were taken at the Sunken Forest on Fire Island in New York. I had posted some beach photos from there and some of you expressed an interest in learning more about the Sunken Forest.
Gnarled trees abound!
I loved this piece of driftwood in the bog.
Fabulous raised wooden walks throughout. Hope you enjoyed the mini-tour!
Great pictures. Something about trees... I just love them. Thanks for stopping by today!
I also really enjoyed the video playing down below on your blog (it automatically starts up so it was hard to miss!)... very thought-provoking. I'm surprised to hear that anyone with that much experience on TV would say that word. Shocking.
Really nice colors in all of these shots, the green is so vibrant! This reminds me of a nature preserve close to where my parents live in Hampton Bays, especially the raised wooden walkways.
Very interesting ! I had never heard of that and it looks beautiful !
You know Photobucket became the laughter of all Europeans, I was the first one to laugh my head off when I saw this "censored" picture ! and of course my friends too. We knew that the USA are quite puritan but at that point .... !
It's amazing to me that trees have so much to say; you've captured their "conversation" in your series...and personally, I LIKE a few words on WW to explain things!

Beautiful place. I never think of New York as having green, quiet places.
I love trees!! The top shot looks like they're dancing to 70's music.
Cool photos! Nature is neato. :-)

Those gnarled trees, roots, etc. have had a hard life.
I never realized there was still any forested land left on Long Island :-)
