I received an e-mail the other day about Christmas cards. It included the address for sending one to a wounded soldier and pointed out that we are all addressing and sending cards anyway, what is one more? Whatever your opinion on the war is, we have many men and women coming back with severe injuries, and we owe them our thanks, as well as the comfort of knowing they haven't been forgotten, especially at this time of the year. So please consider sending a card to a wounded soldier at the following address:
A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20307-5001

That is a wonderful idea!
A beautiful idea...am going to get my grandkids involved too. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the positive feedback. I had meant to mention getting kids involved, but I had to cut the post short and didn't get to say it. I think drawings, cards or a craft from a child would be very welcome and cheering to these soldiers. It is also a great lesson for the kids to learn about reaching out to others and thanking our service men and women.
Thank you both for your comments.

Great idea Maureen. I am in the process of sending out cards, and will add a few to a recovering soldier.

What a great idea Maureen. Often think how tough it must be to be away from family and home at Christmas time--hard for both soldier and family. Thank you for including the address. Kerry
